Join our team to develop and enhance one of the world's largest transactional distributed systems, focusing on tax invoicing and compliance. This role involves building highly scalable and reliable software solutions that address complex global tax regulations and support Amazon's diverse business operations, directly impacting customer experience and financial accuracy.

Key DeliverablesDesign, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions for tax engine optimization, cost efficiency, and security.
Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring high standards of quality for all team deliverables.
Develop high-quality distributed system software that manages hundreds of millions of records and processes millions of service requests per minute.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business decisions and integrate new features into existing systems.
Apply software engineering best practices within an agile development environment to deliver impactful results.
Analyze and solve complex business problems related to global tax rates and laws, ensuring accurate and timely calculations.

Essential Requirements3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Proficiency in working with distributed systems and handling high-volume transactional data.
Demonstrated ability to operate complex and mission-critical systems under significant load.

Preferred Qualifications3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
Experience with AWS, Agile methodologies, Linux environments, and Scala.
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application to real-world problems.
