Product Development Manager - Hardware

As a Product Development Manager, you will play a critical role in the end-to-end lifecycle of our consumer products, from initial concept and rapid prototyping to mass manufacturing and continuous quality improvement. Key Deliverables

• Lead the development of new hardware concepts by collaborating with designers, researchers, and subject matter experts to integrate cutting-edge technologies.
• Manage the end-to-end prototyping process, including testing in internal and external labs and iterating designs based on performance data.
• Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and SOPs to ensure the highest levels of product quality, reliability, and safety.
• Analyze product quality issues by conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing design or process improvements.
• Drive COGS optimization initiatives through component substitution, vendor consolidation, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) strategies.
• Coordinate with sourcing, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure seamless product launches and consistent supply chain performance.
• Maintain rigorous documentation and project timelines to meet aggressive product development and margin goals.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from IIT, BITS, NIT, or other top-tier engineering colleges.
• 1-3 years of professional experience in new-age hardware product companies, such as Electric Vehicles, Consumer Appliances, Wearables, or Energy sectors.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electronic components.
• Proven track record of managing end-to-end product lifecycles, including mechanical parts development, component sourcing, and manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems independently and take ownership of product outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with materials science and assembly line manufacturing processes.
• Experience using simulation and analysis tools for stress, thermal, and tolerance testing.
• Prior exposure to vendor management and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced hardware environment.
