Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic part-time Rust Developer to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on building high-performance, reliable systems using Rust. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in systems programming and experience with asynchronous frameworks, modern UI libraries, and cross-platform development tools.

Key Deliverables

• Develop and maintain efficient, testable, and well-documented Rust code for backend services and applications.
• Contribute to architectural design decisions, ensuring scalability and maintainability of our systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Rust components with existing infrastructure.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge across the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal application performance.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience developing in Rust.
• Strong understanding of systems programming concepts, including memory management and concurrency.
• Proficiency with Git for version control and collaborative development.
• Experience in writing unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contributions to open-source Rust projects.

Skills

Must-Have Skills

• Technical: Rust programming language (proficient in writing safe and efficient code), Tokio (experience with asynchronous runtime), Dioxus/Leptos (familiarity with modern Rust UI frameworks), Tauri (experience in building cross-platform applications), Git (proficient in version control).
• Domain Knowledge: Understanding of systems programming principles, concurrent programming, and memory management.
• Behavioral & Interpersonal: Strong communication skills for effective collaboration, proactive problem-solving, and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Process & SOP: Experience with code review processes and writing technical documentation.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to debug and optimize code, diagnose performance issues, and propose effective solutions.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Advanced Technical: Experience with advanced Rust features (e.g., macros, unsafe code), performance profiling tools, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
• Additional Certifications: Rust-related certifications or training courses.
• Cross-Functional Exposure: Experience working with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers.
• Leadership Traits: Ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
